Introduction
Comtrol is the leading provider of interface technology in the hospitality industry. By licensing our technology, leading property management systems have been able to achieve seamless integration with the most popular Hotel Device Interface equipment on the market today at a fraction of the cost of writing interfaces themselves. Our hospitality products division supplies Lodging Link® technology to PMS vendors for hotel device connectivity and the integration of disparate systems. As just part of our services, we provide both Guest Service Systems and Property Management Systems (PMS) with the necessary tools to develop to our powerful Universal Hospitality Language Layer (UHLL). In doing so, we have enabled our customers with the ability to shorten both the time-to-develop and time-to-market for their products. We provide a low-cost, easy-to-implement, zero-maintenance interface solution that works!
Technology Overview
Comtrol is the sole developer of a universal interface technology that creates seamless communications between a hotel's property management system and its guest service systems such as call accounting, keyless entry, PBX, voice mail, etc. and currently offers a suite of hundreds of interfaces that are operational with many major PMS companies.
The PMS/GSS interface is essential to centralized and efficient management of lodging facilities. It allows for tracking, capture of charges, and other activities related to automated in-room services like telephones, pay-per-view movies, and electronic mini-bars, and Internet access. As these services continue to expand, this interface becomes even more critical to enabling hotels and motels to meet guests' various needs.
Comtrol began to address this issue in 1996, with the introduction of a universal protocol converter. Comtrol technology now integrates over 518 Hotel System Devices!
With Lodging Link, Comtrol has addressed these issues and provided a total solution to the long-standing problem of interfacing so-called "incompatible" systems. A universal interface that "speaks" in the company’s proprietary Universal Hospitality Language Layer (UHLL), Lodging Link provides connectivity and bi-directional communication between the vast array of PMS and Hotel Device Interface systems on the market today — and it does so at an affordable cost not just for the major hotel chains but also for small "independents".
In developing Lodging Link, Comtrol had to address a number of issues related to operational integrity and functionality, including application and protocol independence, data transfer speed and throughput, reliability, and space savings. Comtrol is confident that Lodging Link represents a comprehensive solution to address all of these concerns.
Comtrol and its staff works on a regular basis with organizations associated with the hospitality industry, on issues related to improving systems communication.
Comtrol's Lodging Link product was formerly owned by Protocol Technologies Inc.
