European, Mid-East & African Distribution Sales Manager

Position Summary

  • To plan, direct, control and co-implement (working with Comtrol’s Vice President of Global Sales) all strategies and activities to increase and maximize overall EMEA revenues.
  • To oversee, guide and support Comtrol’s master distributor operation in London and work closely with the Director of Vertical Markets/Channel Sales to maximize revenue and business opportunities and maintain positive inter-company communications.
  • Contribute to the overall direction of European channel expansion and effectively develop and control joint marketing opportunities with the established distribution channel.
  • Work with assigned international distributors to create and achieve quarterly marketing and sales goals.
  • Develop and implement sales action plans, maintain consistent communication with the distribution channel, Comtrol’s European master distributor and also vertical market sales groups to identify international sales opportunities for Comtrol’s hardware and software products.
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Global Sales to identify joint European marketing opportunities and partnership opportunities.The role will require extensive partner research, contract negotiations and export trade management skills.
 

Essential Functions

  • Manage network of EMEA distributors involving horizontal channel distributors and vertical industry focused VAD channel.
  • Manage Europe-based field application engineer to develop training and support model for the growing European distribution network.
  • Coordinate European integrator and reseller contacts with EMEA distribution channel.
  • Maintain communication with European master distributor in order to assist an increase in distribution coverage in the European space.
 
Basic Skills and Requirements
  • Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
  • Articulate technological benefits of Comtrol’s solutions to close sales opportunities.
  • Grow distribution relationships at the appropriate levels, horizontal and vertical.
  • Effectively develop new business relationships through professional prospecting skills.
  • Successfully lead sales efforts in vertical market segments to include hotel automation, industrial factory automation and traffic/transportation, in order to increase overall revenue in each market segment.
  • Seeks input and opinions from all relevant parties.  Secures all facts prior to making decisions.
  • Commitment to industry and personal development.
  • Develops effective presentations (orally and written) where ideas, opinions, recommendations and conclusions are understood.
  • Ability to communicate issues and concerns at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary.
  • Ties strategies and planned actions to results
 Qualifications
  • 5 – 10 years in sales leadership or national account management roll
  • Proven consistent, successful sales goal achievement
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Background in technology desirable
  • Proficient in use of Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Flexible to work European work hours
  • 25% - 40% travel required
  • International business experience
  • Language proficiency in one European language desirable
