Embedded Software Engineer

Primary Responsibility

Candidate is a self-starting and motivated engineer with a strong interest in product and solution development.  This position provides an opportunity to work with network stacks, device drivers, industrial automation technologies and custom applications in order to create new products and customized solutions for key customers. Duties include the generation of software specifications, analysis of software systems, coding and testing of software modules and generation of related documentation.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Enhance and maintain existing networking stacks
• Work as part of a team to develop requirements and specifications for enhancements or customization of protocol stacks
• Customize stacks and/or create embedded applications to enable the use of our networking technologies in customer solutions
• Understand and use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to exercise Industrial Networking protocol stacks

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience programming in C/C++
• An understanding of networking (LAN) concepts and usage
• An interest in embedded applications
• Some experience in networked applications
• Some experience with device driver or embedded programming is a plus
• Some experience with industrial automation and industrial networking a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent experience
• Good communication skills
