Electronic Technician-Entry Level

Primary Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting malfunctioning computer PCI cards and making the required repairs
Ability to solder fine pitch components to current IPC rework standard

Secondary Responsibilities:

Build and perform tests on electronic components to determine operability

Summary of Responsibilities:

Inspect, test and troubleshoot complex computer cards down to the component level under general supervision
Make repairs requiring non-standard techniques
Operate standard, experimental, testing or processing equipment of moderate complexity
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Two year electronics degree preferred
1-3 years experience in the electronic field
A strong knowledge of basic electronic theory
Ability to troubleshoot to the component level
Ability to read schematics, soldering and desoldering of surface mount components
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be able to lift up to 70lbs. repetitively
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Self-motivated

Added plus

Understanding of basic computer hardware and software
Understanding of basic data communications RS232, RS422, RS485 and Ethernet
